Congratulations to Livingston Camera Club, one of the popular groups at Crofthead who have recently been awarded the prestigious Plate Award!

Livingston Camera Club Members have won the coveted and prestigious “Kirkintilloch Plate Trophy” at the Scottish Photographic Federation’s Digital Championships 2023. The federation is a network of almost 100 clubs from all over Scotland.

This major event was held on the 19th November in the Dunblane Civic Halls, where three judges had to select the winning shots from over 700 images. The “Plate Competition” involved 24 Scottish Camera Clubs competing over two rounds, with 10 images in the first and 15 in the second round. Out of a possible total of 225 points, Livingston Camera Club came first with 180 points to lift the trophy. “Catch of the Day” by LCC member Derek Hunter scored the maximum marks possible with 15 out of 15.

This very active Camera Club with over 50 members meets at the Crofthead Community Education Centre on Monday evenings and welcomes new members at any stage of their photographic journey, from complete beginners to those who are highly experienced, and who are interested in a wide range of genres including landscape, portraiture, creative and nature.

The club aims to bring together photography enthusiasts from the local community to share their passion for photography and learn from each other. The club hosts regular guest speakers and holds a number of photographic competitions each year as well as occasional excursions, workshops, and occasional exhibitions to showcase the work of its members.

The Club is always keen to welcome new members. For more information about Livingston Camera Club, please visit our website at www.livingstoncameraclub.org.uk or contact: lcc.secretary@livingstoncameraclub.org.uk
